Our mission is to make the classroom a more welcoming and stimulating place, through teachers who are committed, not only with the specific knowledge they teach, but with the integral formation of their students.

Virginia Chaves, Dsc.

Founder of Glia

Approach

Glia was born out of the immense desire to transform the classroom into an inspiring and efficient space for student learning, without causing discomfort or alienating teachers from their knowledge and experiences. All of this based on science.

"in love with the brain

and for education"

Virginia

Keys, Dsc.

I was able to unite two interests by studying how the brain learns and translating such information into effective pedagogical practices for learning.

My training in neuroscience took place in the academic environment, when I studied important mechanisms of formation of the cerebellum. When I finished my doctorate I was swept away by education, I left higher education and started teaching biology to elementary school students. Since then, I became subject coordinator, assistant school director, author of didactic material and pre-university teacher.

Later, I started giving lectures and training workshops for teachers in schools across Brazil through the Eleva network, and from there came the idea of bringing the neuroscience of learning to school.

We bring neuroscience to the classroom, in a didactic and applicable way, with the aim of developing and optimizing pedagogical practices, aiming at more effective and meaningful learning for students.
